COVID-19 boosts online sales

Obviously, the current context is not without consequences on consumers' behaviour. With these closures and the measures imposed to reduce the impact of the pandemic, people quickly turned to online shopping. According to Statistics Canada, e-commerce sales practically doubled between February and May 2020.

Is fashion still a priority?

The data collected by the Center facilitating research and innovation in organizations (CEFRIO) shows that online purchases regarding the world of fashion, such as clothes, shoes, jewelry and accessories, reach a proportion of more than 38% of online purchases.

Is this trend here to stay?

Many people have never explored online shopping, and now, with these circumstances, it’s becoming a new habit. As for companies, many have turned to online commerce in order to continue their activity and minimize damage. Considering all these changes imposed with the arrival of COVID-19, it is clear that retail will evolve and never be the same after this crisis.

And you, are you shopping more online?
